Catching up with Ramen

A few weeks ago, a friend of ours told us that she will be visiting Manila during the upcoming weekend. She's originally from Nueva Ejica so it's not everyday that we get the chance to see her, plus, she also just came back from a trip to Vietnam and was excited to see me and my boyfriend. So we decided to meet up and eat out at Shang.

Why hello there. Here's my face during the whole taxi ride to Shang. Sorry for the vanity of your truly. ><

Sadly though, we were late by almost an hour so our friend, Dycee and her sister, had to wait for us. (I'm really sorry dudes!). But we already told her to look for a place to eat. Upon arriving, we decided to try out this Japanese restaurant called Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen. I was lucky because I was also itching to try this ramen place since last month.

Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen has been considered as one of the best ramen places in the metro. I don't think I've ever heard nor read any negative reviews about this place before (except for the service?). Pretty much like Santouka, but this place is more on ramen, not ramen sets, and specializes in Tonkotsu ramen and Chikuho noodles. You can actually request if you want your noddles soft, normal, or hard.

So we went inside and checked their menu. I had a huge problem on which one to try first. Honestly, I don't know what the problem was with the service crew. Because during the time that we were there, they were able to serve us nicely and with a smile.

I ordered their Chashu Tonkotsu ramen, served with three slices of seriously delicious tender loin. I also requested that my noodles be served soft. My boyfriend had their Kimchi Tonkotsu while Dycee and her sister had a bowl of AjitamaTonkotsu and Ikkoryu Original Tonkotsu.

The ramen was delish! I don't know what else to say! I would've finish the whole bowl if I could, but sadly, I can't. >< The tenderloin was perfectly cooked and the noodles were just right for me. A word of advice for anyone who plans to eat here: Eat your ramen while it's still hot, seriously, you'll enjoy it all the more.

After getting our orders, Dycee requested to take a few photos of my little toy before eating our ramen. Food is best enjoyed with friends and love ones. Every slurp of noodles was joined with a few laughs here and there, and more catching up.

Here's one of the photos that I took using my phone: a little seal enjoying it's view of my Chashu ramen. :3

I was full after leaving the ramen place. I couldn't finish my food at all even if I tried.

We had a very limited time during that day so we decided to end our hang out at Krispy Kreme.

A few pictures of us before leaving Shangri-la. (with a green-haired photo bomber Khal behind us).

Till next hang out dude! :D
